The latter is not the only former Barcelona player returning to Brazil.As per Fabrizio Romano, Gremio are set to complete the signing of Arthur on a dry loan from Juventus.
The midfielder started off with Gremio, before getting a move to Barcelona in 2018.After a solid first season, he did not kick on after that, and in 2020 he joined Juventus in a deal that saw Miralem Pjanic go the other way.
However, things did not go well in Turin, and he has since been loaned to Liverpool, Fiorentina and Girona.None of which, particularly Liverpool, yielded much success.
Ironically enough, he will not be the only former Barcelona player at the club, with Martin Braithwaite also at the club.He has only played for Brazil once since 2020 – playing 13 minutes during a 4-0 win over Bolivia in 2022.
