Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram Informant in Adamawa

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected Boko Haram informant during a routine market patrol in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Military sources disclosed that the suspect, identified as Mohammed Hamadu, 18, was apprehended at about 4:00 p.m. on June 6 in Madagali town following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected terrorist informants operating within the area.

According to the sources, troops of the 144 Task Force Battalion (Mechanised) acted on intelligence reports indicating the presence of individuals allegedly providing support and information to terrorist elements.

The sources said the suspect was arrested during a market patrol conducted as part of ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt terrorist support networks within the battalion’s area of responsibility.

“Acting on credible intelligence, troops apprehended the suspect during routine security operations in Madagali town. He is currently in military custody for further investigation,” a military source said.

The arrest forms part of sustained counterterrorism operations aimed at dismantling logistics, intelligence and support structures linked to insurgent groups in the North-East.

Military authorities reiterated their commitment to denying terrorist elements access to local support networks and enhancing security across communities affected by insurgency.
