Troops Engage Terrorists During Patrol In Enugu Forest, One Civilian Injured

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Udo Ka, have engaged suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in Ajali Forest in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A military source said the operation, which involved troops of 82 Division Garrison and 103 Battalion (Rear), was conducted at about 10:00 a.m. on March 27.

The source disclosed that troops made contact with the suspected terrorists and engaged them in a brief exchange, forcing them to withdraw from the area.

“During the operation, a civilian bulldozer driver sustained injuries and was evacuated to a nearby clinic for medical attention,” the source said.

He added that troops continued operations within the forest with the support of four bulldozers to further clear suspected hideouts.

According to him, the operation is still ongoing as efforts continue to deny criminal elements freedom of movement within the area.
