U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to suggest that one of his top political donors — widely believed to be Miriam Adelson — prioritizes Israel over the United States.
Speaking during one of his recent unscripted remarks, Trump recalled asking the donor whether she loved Israel or the U.S. more. When she declined to answer, Trump quipped, “That might mean Israel.”
The comment has reignited debate over Trump’s close ties with pro-Israel donors and his longstanding boast of being “the best friend Israel ever had.”
