TUC Rejects Planned 5% Tax On Petroleum Products; Gives 14 Day Ultimatum For Withdrawal

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) out rightly rejects the Federal Government’s planned 5% tax on petroleum products.

The Labour Union in a statement by the General President, Festus Osifo says the
workers and citizens are still struggling to cope with hash economic realities following subsidy removal, therefore another levy on petroleum products will only compound difficult issues for citizens and businesses

TUC hereby issues a 14 day ultimatum to government to withdraw the plan saying the Union will mobilize Nigerian workers and the masses for a nationwide resistance if government ignores the warning and go ahead to implement the policy.
