Minister of Works, David Umahi, has publicly described Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, as being exceptionally close to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, referring to him as “the son of the President” in a show of strong political solidarity.
Speaking during an event in Kaduna, Umahi highlighted the depth of the relationship between the President and Governor Sani, saying he had personally witnessed the closeness between the two leaders.
“I know what I’m talking about when I say Uba Sani is the son of the President because I have been fortunate and privileged to stand between the two of them and see how dear he is in the heart of President (Tinubu),” Umahi stated. “He is a man that is trusted, he is a man that is tested.”
The statement comes amid growing speculation about political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with analysts viewing Umahi’s remarks as a strong endorsement of Governor Sani’s rising political influence.
Observers say the comment further underscores Uba Sani’s standing within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), where loyalty and proximity to the President remain significant political capital.
