Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that Assistant Commissioner of Police and Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, is in possession of his stolen Ray-Ban AI-powered smart glasses, which he claims were forcefully taken during the July 21st #PoliceProtest at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Sowore made the claims in an update posted Sunday via his verified X (formerly Twitter) page, stating that the high-tech eyewear, seized by Aku Victor Chiemerie during the protest, is now allegedly being tampered with by police authorities under orders from the Inspector General of Police.

“I can now authoritatively confirm that ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi @Princemoye1 is in possession of my stolen @ray_ban AI-powered glasses, the same device snatched by Aku Victor Chiemerie during the historic #PoliceProtest at Force Headquarters on July 21st, 2025,” Sowore wrote.
According to Sowore, ACP Adejobi presented the device to the IGP, who then reportedly directed the Police Digital Forensics Unit to hack into it in search of so-called “incriminating footage.” Sowore claims the team has been unsuccessful in accessing the glasses’ internal data due to its security features and lack of external storage.
“In a desperate move, Adejobi has sent the glasses to the Police Digital Forensics Unit… But they’ve hit a brick wall; the glasses have no external SD card, making it impossible to access the data without proper credentials,” he stated.
The activist further accused the police of attempting to contact Ray-Ban Meta to bypass his credentials—actions he labeled a “blatant criminal violation of digital privacy and personal property.”
“ACP Muyiwa Adejobi tampering with my stolen eyeglasses is criminal theft, and not law enforcement,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sowore also alleged that Aku Victor Chiemerie, the individual he claims stole the device during the protest, has been in hiding but is expected to appear at House On The Rock Church in Abuja on Sunday.
“If you see Nigeria’s national thief, tell him to return my @ray_ban Meta glasses,” he added.
As of the time of filing this report, neither ACP Adejobi nor the Nigeria Police Force has publicly responded to the allegations.
