Veteran Nigerian Musician 2Baba Finally Reveals Reason For Divorce

Veteran Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has opened up about his separation from his longtime partner and wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia. In a revealing interview with media personality Nedu, the iconic artist shared personal insights into their breakup while also making a controversial statement about sexual monogamy.

The couple, who had been together for over 12 years and shared two children, confirmed their separation in January 2025. The news came as a shock to fans, given their history and public declarations of love and commitment over the years.

In the interview, 2Baba acknowledged the emotional weight of the separation and spoke respectfully about his ex-wife:
“I think both of us gave it our best. Why we are not together is not something I’m going to start talking about here in the public,” he said.

He explained that the relationship had simply run its course.
“Me and her, we get our understanding. She’s amazing. Like I said earlier, it wasn’t just working no more. That’s just it,” he added.

Shortly after the announcement of their split, 2Baba introduced his new lover, Natasha Osawuru, online — a move that further fueled online speculation and stirred reactions from fans and celebrities alike.

In the same interview, 2Baba made headlines again with a blunt statement about his stance on sexual exclusivity. When asked by Nedu, “Is it possible to be loyal and be 2Face? Is it possible to be a loyal man to a woman?”

the music legend replied: “I have said this a couple of days ago, and I got into trouble for it, but I didn’t care about that. Man, no fits, I don’t know ooo but let me talk for my own self. I no go talk about other men. A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. Man can give his heart and love to one woman, but it’s impossible for a man to sexually be with one woman.”
