It is with great in amazing joy, peace, and harmony that the Ijaw Nation celebrates a momentous occasion the marriage of one of her illustrious sons, Ebiegberi Goodnews Samson, popularly known as Mayor 1 of Niger Delta.
The distinguished son of the soil led his beloved, Miss Powei Mercy Lekoh, now Mrs. Ebiegberi Powei Mercy, to the altar in a grand and historic ceremony that will be remembered for generations to come.
The union was solemnized over two beautiful days the Traditional Marriage Ceremony held on October 10th, 2025, and the White Wedding which followed on October 11th, 2025, both hosted in the vibrant city of Akure.
Bunady Newslite report that the entire ceremony was a successful and peaceful gathering, graced by a rich blend of culture, elegance, and unity. Friends, family, dignitaries, and well-wishers beautifully adorned in their traditional and elegant attires came from far and wide to witness and bless the joyous union.
In his vote of thanks, the groom, Mr. Ebiegberi Goodnews Samson (Mayor 1 of Niger Delta), expressed deep gratitude to all young and old, male and female who honoured the occasion with their presence. He extended a VERY BIG THANK YOU to everyone who made relentless efforts to support and attend the wedding celebration.
He further stated that such celebrations of love, unity, and culture should be continually embraced and encouraged within our communities, as they reflect the strength and togetherness of the Ijaw people. He prayed that the Lord of Divinity would continue to grant all attendees the desires of their hearts and uplift every home represented.
