The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has urged the public to disregard circulating messages that claim certain schools’ results have been cancelled, labeling them as false and misleading.
In an official post shared via WAEC’s verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, the examination body stated:
“Kindly ignore any message listing schools whose results were supposedly cancelled. Meanwhile, WAEC will never ask any centre to bring scripts of candidates to the office. Where would they get them from?”
The Council emphasized that all verified communication will be shared only through its official handles and accredited media channels, urging students, parents, and school administrators to be cautious of unauthenticated information.
“Do not accept any message that is not on our handles and accredited media,” WAEC warned.
This clarification comes amid growing concern following the release of the 2025 WASSCE results, with several unverified messages and lists circulating on social media, allegedly claiming mass cancellations of school results.
WAEC reiterated its commitment to transparency, integrity, and proper procedures, advising the public to always verify information from trusted sources.
