The Group Chief Executive Officer of Oando Plc, Wale Tinubu, has commended the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, over plans to expand the Dangote Refinery’s production capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day (bpd), describing the milestone as a defining moment for Nigeria’s energy sector.
Tinubu, in a congratulatory message shared on Tuesday, said the ambitious expansion project positions Nigeria firmly on the global energy map, making it a significant player in the global refining landscape.
“My friend, Aliko Dangote, your work rate is surreal. 1.4 million barrels per day refining capacity puts Nigeria on the global energy map as a first,” Tinubu said.
He added that the project represents “a rising tide of enterprise that lifts everyone,” commending Dangote’s vision and relentless drive toward industrial transformation.
The Dangote Refinery, which recently began test runs, is expected to not only meet Nigeria’s domestic fuel needs but also export petroleum products to international markets, reinforcing the nation’s drive toward energy independence and economic diversification.
