The head of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan has told Newsweek his forces are ready to launch ground operations against the Islamic Republic, if the United States provides support.
“If the United States decided to protect and to support the Kurdish parties, then we could play a very, very significant role,” Secretary-General Abdulla Mohtadi said. “We could remove the Iranian forces and control cities in Kurdish areas.”
Six Iranian Kurdish factions have already united under a new Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan, overcoming internal feuds specifically in response to the war. Talks with Washington reportedly occurred but never produced an agreement.
Trump initially welcomed the prospect (“I’d be all for it”), then reversed course days later: “I have ruled it out. I don’t want the Kurds going in.”
The IRGC has already struck Kurdish rebel positions in Iraqi Kurdistan, warning that any move against Iran’s territorial integrity “will be crushed.”Get The Full, Details. .
