Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports that former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, may seek the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Wike said Amaechi was aware he stood no chance of clinching the party’s ticket, adding that his recent comments about knowing President Bola Tinubu’s “weakness” were laughable.

“I read that Amaechi said he knows the weakness of President Tinubu and how to defeat him. But he also knew the weakness of Mr. President in 2022, when the President defeated him mercilessly in the APC primaries,” Wike said.

The FCT Minister described Amaechi’s political moves as desperate, stressing that the former Rivers governor had already been roundly rejected within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
