The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 24, by operatives stationed at the community’s security post, the Ogun State Police Command disclosed on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
The survivor’s mother, identified only as Christiana, told the police that the suspect allegedly violently attacked her daughter in October 2024 and r@ped her before threatening her to keep it a secret.
The teen kept the incident a secret out of fear until her mother noticed unusual changes in her behaviour and injuries sustained during the alleged assault.
The state police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Omolola Odutola, said, “The victim hid the incident from her parents until the complainant noticed unusual signs on her body.
“She then confided in her mother, revealing that the suspect had forcibly raped her, causing her to lose her virginity, and had threatened her not to tell anyone.”
After his arrest by police operatives in the community, the suspect reportedly confessed to violently assaulting the girl and threatening her into silence.

“The suspect has been arrested and detained. Further investigation will take place once the case is transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department,” Odutola added.
