A tragic accident on Saturday evening claimed the lives of 28 passengers after two vehicles collided head-on at Mile 49 along the Ore-Lagos expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Ibitoye, attributed the accident to excessive speeding and a traffic violation.Tap Here for the Full Story
According to Ibitoye, the reckless driving led to a fatal collision, resulting in the deaths of 28 out of the 30 passengers on board. He urged drivers to always exercise caution on the highway, emphasizing that their responsibility is to transport passengers safely to their destinations.
He also advised passengers to speak up against reckless driving, urging them to report drivers who disregard traffic rules to FRSC officials on patrol.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been taken to the General Hospital in Ore, while the two survivors, who sustained severe injuries are receiving medical treatment.
