NEMA told MyNigeria that the unfortunate incident happened on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at about 11 pm.
The agency said the explosion occurred at Tasiu Gas Plant, located beside Kalasma Filling Station in Sabon Wuse, along the Kaduna Expressway.
According to NEMA, “The incident resulted from the transloading of gas from a tanker to a surface tank. Both the tanker and the gas plant were completely engulfed in flames, along with a car parked nearby belonging to Abubakar Yakubu.
“The fire also spread to the Ngeil Grains Processing Factory, located behind the gas plant. It destroyed approximately 550 bags of beans and six bags of soya beans stored in the facility.”
NEMA said information from the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) revealed that no lives were lost and that the fire had been successfully brought under control.
This is coming a few weeks after a petrol tanker exploded, killing over 80 people, most of whom were scooping the spilled content the tanker was transporting.Read Full Details
