Rivers Crisis: Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Nma Odu Didn’t Resign – ONC President General

The Orashi National Congress (ONC) has strongly dismissed rumours circulating that Her Excellency, Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Nma Odu, has resigned from her position as the Deputy Governor of Rivers State.

In a firm statement, ONC President General, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, condemned the spread of such falsehoods, calling on those behind the misinformation to desist immediately.

Speaking to journalists, Amb. Ibe emphasized that Prof. Odu remains a committed and highly respected leader, not only in the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, but also as a proud daughter and mother of the Orashi region. He noted that there was no basis for her resignation, as she has served diligently and remains an integral part of the government’s ongoing developmental agenda.

“The Deputy Governor has done nothing to warrant resignation. Those spreading these baseless claims should put some respect on her name. She is a woman of integrity, and no amount of propaganda can change that. Anyone hoping for her resignation is living in false hope and will soon be put to shame,” Amb. Ibe stated.

Reaffirming its unwavering support, the ONC reiterated its strong backing for the Fubara-led administration, urging the people of Rivers State to disregard any attempts to destabilize the government through misinformation.

“We stand firmly behind Governor Fubara and his administration. The people of Rivers State should remain focused on the progress and development that this government is committed to delivering,” Amb. Ibe concluded.

The ONC has called for unity and responsible reporting, cautioning against the spread of false narratives that could create unnecessary political tension in the state.
