Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia also known as Tuface has lamented over the killing of over 200 people in the Yelewata community of Benue State.
Tuface describing the crisis in the state as a national emergency called for immediate action from the government and other relevant agencies.
A Technical Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Entertainment and Community Outreach, the singer in an emotional video which was shared on his social media accounts said he is terribly sad over what has been happening in his state.
Stating that he cannot phantom the reasons behind these killings in the state or its impact on the people of Benue, Tuface said these attacks have to end.
“My heart is heavy. I am terribly sad and angry. What is happening in Benue State has become a national emergency. I can’t wrap my head around it anymore. I don’t even know what to say at this point. This has to stop,” Tuface said.
He further condemned the incessant violence in the state and the government’s failure to address the issue and ensure lasting peace and stability in Benue State.
“My sadness, my anger, my frustration, it’s overwhelming that this keeps happening over and over again. This is no longer something we can just condemn in words. Serious action needs to be taken,” Tuface added.
The singer further called on all stakeholders in the state to collaborate to end the growing attacks in Benue.
