Pastor Sarah Omakwu has advised married couples against living separately, stressing that husbands and wives should remain together to protect and strengthen their marriages.
Speaking during an episode of her Marriage Is Sweet series, Omakwu said she does not believe it is God’s will for married couples to reside in different cities or countries while maintaining a marriage.
“This thing these days, man will live in Abuja, the wife is in Scotland. It’s not the will of God,” she said.
The cleric questioned how couples who live far apart meet each other’s emotional and s+xual needs, emphasizing the importance of intimacy in marriage. “What are the men doing with their s+xual needs? Because every other minute a man is thinking about s+x,” she said, adding, “For 32 years, a man must have s+x.”
Omakwu warned that prolonged separation could expose spouses to various temptations, especially in the age of the internet and social media. According to her, partners who do not share the same home and bed may be more vulnerable to pornography and inappropriate relationships online.
“In this day and age of internet, you have to be on the same bed before your husband or wife forms a culture of porn%graphy,” she stated.
She further encouraged transparency between spouses, particularly regarding mobile phones, arguing that secrecy can create distrust in marriages.
“Any marriage where the husband or wife cannot touch the phone of the other person, something is wrong,” she said.
