Sunday Igboho, became widely known after confronting the Fulani accused by residents of kidnappings, farm attacks and other violent crimes in the area.

Residents accused a Fulani community leader, Salisu Fulani, of leading criminal activities, including land seizure and highway attacks.

When Igboho entered Igangan to confront the group, his supporters said the men opened fire.

After criminal elements were driven out, they later retaliated by returning to Igangan in June 2021, where attackers burned the palace, destroyed properties worth millions of naira and killed residents.
