Buhari was received at the Maiduguri airport by Governor Babagana Zulum, Senator Ali Ndume, and other political leaders in the state.
According to a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari went to pay respects to the Shehu of Borno as part of his visit to the state.
The statement reads: āFormer President Muhammadu Buhari just landed in Maiduguri, Borno State, into the warm hands of Governor Babagana Zulum, Senator Ali Ndume and other political and government leaders in the state.
āThe former president was away on vacation when the state suffered the recent devastating floods and is here to personally commiserate with the Shehu of Borno, the government, and the people of the state following the tragic incident.
