Both teams head to the game after failing to win their last Premier League matches against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, respectively.

Man City played a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last weekend while Man United lost 3-2 against Nottingham Forest.

The last time both teams met was in March this year.

The Cityzens defeated the Red Devils 3-1 in the Premier League at Etihad.

City will endeavour to close the nine-point gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool when they welcome United in the evening.

Man City manager, Pep Guardiola, has already stated at his pre-match press conference that there has been no improvement regarding his injured defenders.

Rico Lewis’ suspension adds to John Stones, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji’s absence, leaving Guardiola to mull over his options for today’s clash against Man United.

Man United, on the other hand, will hope to avoid another defeat when they face Man City, having lost against Nottingham Forest in their last match.

They currently sit in the 13th position on the Premier League table with 19 points after 15 matches.

Man United manager, Ruben Amorim has already confirmed that all of his players would be fit and ready to beat City.

“I think everyone is going to be fit and ready to win the game,” Amorim said at his pre-match interview.

Amorim could be without Luke Shaw against Guardiola’s side as the left-back is currently recovery from injury.

The match against City will be Portuguese’s first Manchester derby since he took over at Old Trafford last month.

Amorim beat Man City 4-1 in his final game in charge of Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League before he came to Old Trafford.

The 39-years-old and his City counterpart Guardiola will hope to use the derby clash to get back on winning ways.

It’s yet to be seen if Amorim can use the current United squad to overcome City just like he led Sporting to beat the Premier League champions under the guidance of Guardiola.

However, both Manchester clubs have not been really impressive so far this season.

A win for United against City will see Amorim’s side move up from the 13th position on the log.

Also, a win for City will see Guardiola’s side enter the top-four position as both Arsenal and Liverpool dropped two points each on Saturday.
