Edo Decides2024: Court Petition Against APC Chieftain Over Alleged Age Falsification, Others
The governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo, in the forthcoming election has been summoned to appear before a Magistrate Court. Okpebholo was summoned by the court in Abuja over allegations of forgery and perjury. A suit filed on September 12, by Honesty Aginbatse, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, alleged discrepancies in the date of birth provided by Okpebholo and submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The PDP chieftain, in his allegation, said that Okpebholo’s 2023 Senate nomination form listed his birth date as March 29, 1970, while the governorship nomination forms which he submitted to INEC had his date of birth as August 29, 1970, in an age declaration form. In the same suit, the PDP chieftain claimed that Okpebholo’s birth date was recorded as August 29, 1972, on his West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate while he had August 1, 1977, as the official date of birth on his INEC voter card. Noting that these discrepancies contravene the provisions of Section 182.1 (d) of the Nigerian Constitution, Aginbatse said the offences if convicted further disqualify an individual from contesting for a governorship positon. Premier League: Chelsea Injury Woes Hinder As Tottenham Star Faces ‘Squad Exile’ Amid Looming Deadline
As the international break comes to a close, the Premier League is ready to roar back to life. Two of the league’s most ambitious clubs, Chelsea and Tottenham, are gearing up for a crucial weekend of action. The Blues travel to AFC Bournemouth, while Spurs take on bitter rivals Arsenal in the first North London derby of the season. But before the teams take to the pitch, there’s been plenty of drama behind the scenes. Chelsea has suffered an injury blow with summer signing Filip Jorgensen picking up an injury while playing for Denmark’s under-21s. The goalkeeper is being assessed, but there’s concern that his season could be cut short. Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has revealed that he had a tempting offer to leave the club in the summer. The Frenchman has been plagued by injuries in recent years, but he opted to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge. As reported by Free Foot, Fofana has spoken about his desire to succeed at Chelsea and establish himself as a regular starter. However, he also hinted that he could return to his hometown club, Olympique Marseille, in the future. In other news, Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon is facing an uncertain future at the club. The left-back is reportedly a target for Fenerbahce, but if he doesn’t secure a move before the Turkish deadline on Friday, he could be left out of Ange Postecoglou’s 25-man Premier League squad. This would mean Reguilon would not be eligible to play for Spurs until January, leaving him with a tough decision to make. As the two teams prepare for their respective matches, there’s no doubt that these issues will have an impact on their performances. Will Chelsea’s injury woes hinder their chances against Bournemouth?

Liverpool Boss Unveil a Star Player Whom He Wants To Leave During International Break.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has addressed the recent comments made by Caoimhin Kelleher during the international break. Kelleher, Liverpool’s second-choice goalkeeper, openly expressed his desire to leave the club, noting that he has wanted a move for several seasons. Despite his repeated requests to transfer, he has not received a positive response from Liverpool. Kelleher also mentioned that the potential arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili next summer might signal an opportunity for his departure in 2025. Kelleher has shown impressive performances when given the chance at Liverpool, which highlights his talent and potential as a starting goalkeeper. However, Slot appears to be untroubled by Kelleher’s aspirations to secure more regular playing time at another club. Slot’s response suggests a pragmatic approach, focusing on the current squad’s needs rather than being swayed by the goalkeeper’s public statements. The situation underscores Kelleher’s ambition and the ongoing discussion about his future at Liverpool. With the anticipated signing of Mamardashvili, Kelleher’s hopes for a move might gain momentum if he sees fewer opportunities at Anfield. Slot’s handling of the matter reflects a balanced perspective, aiming to maintain team stability while acknowledging the player’s career goals and aspirations.
