“Being Talkative, Loquacious, Garrulous, Voluble Can Not Earn You White Skin” — Malcolm Omirhobo Blast Kemi Badenoch

Human rights lawyer Malcolm Omirhobo has taken a swipe at UK politician Kemi Badenoch, asserting that being “talkative, loquacious, garrulous, or voluble” will not change her racial identity. According to his statement via his X page. He said; “Kemi Badenoch: Being talkative, loquacious, garrulous, or voluble can’t earn you white skin or white privilege. You remain a Yoruba woman from Nigeria, Africa, till the end of the world,” Omirhobo stated.

His comments appear to be a response to Badenoch’s stance on issues of race and identity in the UK, where she serves as a Conservative politician and Minister for Business and Trade. Badenoch has previously been criticized for her views on diversity and racial issues, with some accusing her of downplaying systemic racism and adopting rhetoric that aligns with right-wing politics.

Omirhobo drew a comparison with former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, an Indian-origin politician, arguing that Sunak never distanced himself from his heritage or spoke disparagingly about his race.

“Rishi Sunak was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; he never talked down or disparaged his race or India,” Omirhobo remarked.

Badenoch, who was born in the UK to Nigerian parents, has often emphasized meritocracy over identity politics. However, her critics argue that her approach undermines the lived experiences of racial minorities in the UK.

The comments from Omirhobo have reignited debates on race, identity, and political loyalty among diaspora communities. While some believe that politicians of African and Asian descent should be more vocal about issues affecting their communities, others argue that figures like Badenoch and Sunak represent a shift towards a more inclusive and non-racialized political discourse.

As discussions continue, Badenoch has yet to respond directly to Omirhobo’s remarks. However, the debate highlights the broader challenges faced by politicians of African and Asian descent navigating Western political landscapes.Read Full Details
