According to Daily Express, Chelsea’s star, Cole Palmer, stole the spotlight on Saturday with a remarkable performance, netting four goals in a 4-2 victory over Brighton
This historic feat saw Palmer become the first player to score four times in the first half of a Premier League match. His first-half hat-trick came in just 10 minutes, following a goal from a penalty and a stunning free-kick.
He later added his fourth after a Brighton defensive error.
Following the game, Palmer’s teammate and long-time friend, Romeo Lavia, couldn’t resist a light-hearted jab at Palmer’s achievement.
Signing Palmer’s hat-trick ball, Lavia wrote: “You’re a mid player regardless.”
Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, was full of praise for Palmer’s performance. “I know Cole Palmer from many years ago… The best thing is the way he is as a human.
This doesn’t change his life and that is the best thing for him,” said Maresca.
Palmer’s form continues to strengthen his status as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe. With three hat-tricks at Stamford Bridge under his belt, he is showing no signs of slowing down.
