The Nigerian Army recently addressed the emergence of a new terrorist group, the Lakurawas, warning that its activities bear a strong resemblance to the early stages of Boko Haram. This similarity in tactics has prompted widespread public concern, with many urging the military to prevent the group from inflicting harm, especially in Sokoto State.

He warned that, much like Boko Haram in its early days, the Lakurawas could pose a significant threat if not immediately contained. He assured the public that the military is working to locate and neutralize members of the group to prevent further escalation.
