The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) uncovered significant breaches by Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited and Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC).
The companies misled consumers about their Coca-Cola “Original Taste, Less Sugar” variant, falsely claiming it was the same as the original.
Despite regulatory intervention, the companies continued these practices. NBC also misled consumers with indistinguishable packaging for different drink variants. FCCPC is considering penalties for these violations.
