BREAKING: Gunmen kill ex-Immigration CG, Parradang

A former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, has been killed by gunmen in Abuja on Tuesday, March 4.

A source within the service confirmed his death to PUNCH Online, adding that plans were underway to visit his family for a condolence visit.

“I don’t know exactly how he died, but we are planning to visit his family to offer our condolences,” the source said.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Josephine Adeh, promised to revert but had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.

Similarly, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Immigration Service, A.S. Akinlabi, assured PUNCH Online that he would return calls but had also not responded at the time of this report.

However, according to a report by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, Parradang was abducted in the Area 1 axis of Abuja in the early hours of Tuesday.

Makama reported that the assailants trailed Parradang from a bank where he had withdrawn money, took the cash from him, and eventually killed him.

“The tragic incident has raised fresh concerns over security in the Federal Capital Territory, particularly regarding the increasing cases of kidnappings and targeted attacks,” Makama stated in a post.

Parradang, who served in the NIS for over 30 years, held various positions across the country before becoming Comptroller-General.
