BREAKING: Gunmen Kill Four Women, Injure Three in Fresh Bokkos Attack — Plateau Under Siege Again

Tragedy struck again in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State on Wednesday night as suspected armed assailants attacked Jean Tangur 2 village in Tangur District, leaving four women dead and three others critically injured.

The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. on June 19, according to security sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama. The gunmen were said to have stormed the community under the cover of darkness and opened fire indiscriminately on unsuspecting residents.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Rachael Ayuba
  • Cecilia John
  • Naomi Siman
  • Esther Ezra

Three other individuals sustained bullet wounds and are currently receiving treatment at the Cottage Hospital in Bokkos.

In response, a joint team of security operatives—including military personnel, police officers, and local vigilantes—was swiftly deployed to the area to restore calm and begin a manhunt for the attackers.

Authorities say efforts are ongoing to track down those responsible for the violence.

This latest incident adds to the growing insecurity plaguing Plateau State, which has witnessed repeated attacks in rural communities over the past months, despite increased military presence.
