A new political movement may be on the horizon as the National Coalition Group (NNCG) has formally applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the registration of a new political party named the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
The application, dated June 19, 2025, was officially acknowledged and received by INEC on June 20, 2025. The submission was signed by Chief Akin A. Rickets, who currently serves as the Protem National Chairman of the association.
In the letter addressed to the electoral commission, the group wrote:
“We respectfully write to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, requesting the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance, ADA, as a political party.”
The group stated that the move followed a resolution by the Nigerian National Coalition Group to sponsor ADA’s full registration as a political entity.
According to the application:
- The party name will be All Democratic Alliance.
- The acronym is ADA.
- The slogan is “Justice for All.”
The party’s headquarters is listed at the address shown on the association’s official letterhead.
Attached to the application were the party’s:
- Logo, which incorporates the symbolism of its colours and the corn (maize),
- Manifesto, detailing its ideology and governance vision,
- Constitution, outlining its legal framework, structures, and organizational setup,
- Party flag, displaying its name, acronym, and slogan,
- And minutes of meetings held in preparation for its formation.
The party also confirmed that the submission complies with Section 40 and 222 of the Nigerian Constitution, Section 75 of the Electoral Act (2022), and adheres to democratic norms and global best practices.
“While we eagerly await further action from the commission… please accept the consideration of our highest respect,” Chief Rickets concluded in the letter.
INEC has not yet issued a formal response to the application. If approved, ADA would join Nigeria’s expanding list of registered political parties ahead of future electoral cycles.
