BREAKING: NIPSS ATTACK: D-G Confirms Arrest of Suspects, As DIG Visits Institute

A major breakthrough has been reached in connection with the recent attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru near His.

The Director-General of the Institute, Professor Ayo Omotayo, confirmed that some arrests have been made , while receiving the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the North Central Zone, Mohammed Bala Ishaq, who visited the institute on Thursday.

The DIG’s visit comes after Tuesday’s armed assailants attack on the Nigerian elite policy and strategic institute.

The brazen attack left three persons dead, with authorities promising deep investigation into the incident.

Professor Omotayo told his guest that prior intelligence had been received about a possible attack, enabling security personnel to repel what could have been a more serious outcome.

He added that investigations are ongoing to ensure all those involved are brought to justice.

DIG Mohammed Ishaq, reassured staff and participants of the Senior Executive Course 48, 2026, of enhanced security measures. He said the Nigeria Police Force, working with other security agencies, remains committed to safeguarding lives and property within and around the Institute.

Representative of participants of the Senior Executive Course 48, described the incident as unfortunate, but commended the swift response of the Police and other security agencies.
