In a series of coordinated operations aimed at enhancing public safety and curbing violent crimes, the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has achieved notable successes in Kaduna State, LeadNaija Reported.
According to the statement released through by The Police PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi Said , On April 9, 2025, a joint operation involving the Kaduna State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) led to the rescue of 17 individuals who were abducted on March 3, 2025, from Sarkin Pawa, Niger State. The operation, conducted with strategic intelligence, saw the safe return of the victims, including minors as young as 1 year old, who were immediately taken to the Police Clinic in Kaduna for medical evaluation. All victims were reported to be in stable health.

In a separate breakthrough on the same day, police operatives intercepted a commercial vehicle at the Kawo Central Motor Park in Kaduna, uncovering 21 fabricated AK-47 rifles concealed within the car. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Jamilu Suleiman from Rafin Guza, Kaduna, was arrested.

During questioning, Suleiman revealed he had been tasked with delivering the weapons to an unknown recipient. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the arms trafficking network.
Furthermore, at approximately 5:00 AM on April 9, a distress call led to a gun battle between police and a gang of armed robbers at Doggi Farm along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway. In the ensuing confrontation, two robbers were neutralized, and two others were apprehended, though one later succumbed to injuries. The surviving suspect is assisting with further investigations, and efforts are underway to capture the remaining gang members.
The police’s continuous efforts reflect IGP Egbetokun’s commitment to dismantling criminal activities and ensuring the safety of all Nigerians.
