BREAKING: Police Rescue Ten Kidnapped Victims After Intense Gun Battle in Ohosu Forest, Delta State

In a dramatic rescue operation, the Delta State Police successfully freed ten kidnapped victims after engaging in an intense gun battle with armed kidnappers in the notorious Ohosu Forest. The operation, which unfolded in the early hours of April 17, 2025, saw law enforcement pursuing the criminals deep into the forest, a known hotspot for kidnappings and other criminal activities in the region.

According to police sources, the kidnappers had held the victims hostage in the forest before fleeing the scene during the confrontation. Evidence of blood stains along the kidnappers’ trail suggests they sustained injuries during the gunfight. Realizing their efforts to escape were futile, the criminals reportedly released all ten victims unharmed before fleeing.

One police officer, an Inspector whose name is being withheld, sustained a gunshot wound to the buttocks during the operation. The officer is currently receiving medical treatment but is expected to recover.

The rescued victims were safely escorted to police custody and are reported to be in good health. A full investigation is underway as authorities continue their efforts to apprehend the fleeing kidnappers. A manhunt is ongoing, with security agencies combing the area for any trace of the criminals.

This marks another significant success in the Delta State Police’s ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and violent crimes in the region.
