Russia has issued a stern warning to the United States over any potential military intervention in Iran, calling it a dangerous move that could ignite widespread conflict across the Middle East.
In a strongly worded statement released on Thursday, the Kremlin cautioned that U.S. involvement in any Iranian confrontation would lead to “further escalation, a major escalation,” and could destabilize the entire region.
“Moscow believes it is the wrong move. This is a step that is bound to lead to further escalation, a major escalation, and would only complicate the situation in the region,” a Russian foreign ministry spokesperson stated.
“Such conflicts are capable of setting the entire region on fire. We believe that it is unacceptable to have such conversations, and even more so to take such actions.”
The warning comes amid rising tensions in the Gulf, with speculation of possible U.S. military maneuvers following increased hostilities between Iran and Western interests in the region.
Global powers and regional stakeholders are now watching closely as diplomatic pressure mounts and fears of a broader confrontation grow.
