BREAKING: Three Kebbi Senators Defect from PDP to APC

In a significant political realignment, three senators from Kebbi State have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made during the Senate plenary session held on Tuesday.

The defecting lawmakers are:

1. Senator Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central)
2. Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North)
3. Senator Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South)

Senate President Godswill Akpabio read their letters of defection on the floor of the red chamber, with each senator citing “irreconcilable differences” within the PDP at the state level and alignment with the ruling party’s progressive ideals as key reasons for the switch.

The defections significantly strengthen the APC’s representation in the Senate and are expected to reshape Kebbi State’s political dynamics ahead of future elections.
