President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally presented a revised budget proposal of N1.48 trillion for Rivers State to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
The President explained that this move follows the Supreme Court’s nullification of Rivers State’s 2025 budget and the ongoing emergency rule in the state, which necessitates federal oversight and intervention in fiscal planning.
According to the proposal submitted by the President:
- ₦324 billion is earmarked for infrastructure development,
- ₦166 billion for healthcare,
- ₦75.6 billion for education, and
- ₦31.4 billion for agriculture.
The National Assembly is expected to review the proposal promptly to ensure the continuity of governance and service delivery in the state amid its current political and administrative challenges.
