Speaking at a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League match against Tottenham on Sunday, Maresca acknowledged Madueke’s recent contributions, including a goal in the 5-1 win at Southampton, but is demanding more from the player.
“Overall, he’s been working well since we started,” Maresca said. “Sometimes he drops a little bit. He’s not allowed to drop. In terms of numbers, he’s doing fantastic with goals and assists. Off the ball, when we ask him to defend and press, he’s doing very well.
