Chelsea are intensifying efforts to land Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, after their initial €35 million offer was turned down by the German club.
Sources close to the negotiations confirm that the Blues are preparing a revised proposal that will include performance-related add-ons to sweeten the deal. The new bid is expected to be submitted in the coming days.
Bynoe-Gittens, 19, is understood to be keen on the move to Stamford Bridge and has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea, as earlier reported by transfer insider Fabrice Hawkins. The English forward sees the project under Enzo Maresca as a promising next step in his development.
Borussia Dortmund remain firm on their valuation, but with the player pushing for the move and talks ongoing, a breakthrough could be imminent.
Manchester City, Bynoe-Gittens’ former club, are also set to benefit from any deal, holding a 10% sell-on clause from his original transfer to Dortmund.
Chelsea view Bynoe-Gittens as a long-term investment and are determined to finalize the transfer before the preseason window closes.
