Christopher Nkunku was the hat-trick hero as Chelsea cruised to a comfortable victory over Barrow in the Carabao Cup third round. The French forward was in scintillating form, scoring three goals and leading the Blues to a resounding 5-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku opened the scoring early on with a clinical finish after being set up by JoĂŁo FĂ©lix, who was also impressive in midfield. The duo combined once again for Chelsea’s second goal, with Nkunku slotting home from close range.
The striker completed his hat-trick just before halftime, latching onto a through ball from Malo Gusto and firing past the Barrow goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
Chelsea continued to dominate after the break, with Pedro Neto and Mykhailo Mudryk adding their names to the scoresheet to complete the rout.
It was a night to remember for Nkunku, who was deservedly named the man of the match for his outstanding performance.
