COAS Attends Burial of Soldiers Killed in Chetima Wango Attack (PHOTOS)

The Chief of Staff of the Nigerien Armed Forces, Brig.-Gen. Moussa Salaou Barmou, on Tuesday, attended the burial of four soldiers killed in a terrorist attack at Chetima Wango.

The soldiers lost their lives in an attack on their military position on the night of March 17, 2025. The funeral took place in Diffa, a region frequently targeted by armed groups.

Speaking at the ceremony, Brig.-Gen. Barmou paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, describing them as heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of the nation.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerien Armed Forces to continue the fight against terrorism and ensure the safety of citizens.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Zagazola had reported how the ISWAP faction attacked Chettimari before the Nigerien Airforce assisted by the Nigerian counter part Repel the attack and eliminated dozens of the attackers.Read Full>>>
