Damaturu: Saudi Arabia Launches Free Eye Care Program in Yobe State

In a significant humanitarian gesture, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), has launched the “Saudi Noor” program in Yobe State, offering free eye care services to residents in underserved communities.

The week-long initiative, which runs from May 12 to 19, 2025, is aimed at combating blindness and improving vision health among vulnerable populations. Services include free eye examinations, surgeries, and distribution of eyeglasses.

According to KSrelief, this intervention forms part of Saudi Arabia’s global campaign against blindness, reaching over 30 countries, including extensive operations across Nigeria.

Thousands of Nigerians have benefited from previous KSrelief medical missions, with the current outreach expected to impact hundreds more in Yobe and surrounding regions.
