Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has officially defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made during Wednesday plenary session, as Senate President Godswill Akpabio read Imasuen’s formal letter of defection on the floor of the Senate.
In the letter, Senator Imasuen reportedly cited internal issues within the Labour Party as part of his reasons for switching allegiance to the ruling APC.

Senate President Akpabio acknowledged the move and welcomed Imasuen to the ruling party, noting that the Senate recognizes members’ constitutional rights to associate with political parties of their choice.
The development marks a significant political shift in Edo State, where gubernatorial elections are scheduled to hold later
