Lawyer Deji Adeyanju has criticized the silence of human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, over the arrest and detention of activist Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
VDM is in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after he was arrested last week.
According to the Spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, the agency arrested him following multiple petitions.
Oyewale also revealed that VDM will be charged to court soon.
Since the arrest, many rights group have called for VDM’s release, while condemning the manner he was arrested.
However, Falana has failed to lend his voice to the call, leaving Adeyanju worried.
Adeyanju shared on X, “Our revered leader and mentor, Femi Falana SAN, is yet to condemn the arrest of VDM. Interesting times indeed! When the boy that led people to attack me under Buhari became a victim under the same Buhari and was arrested, I was the first person to condemn it”.
