Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen have also been linked with moves to the Emirates, but they have yet to make any progress towards completing a deal this month.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that Arsenal are determined to find the right options but could miss out as a result.
“They’re still looking to find the right striker this month,” he told Football Insider.
“They’re always looking and preparing to strengthen all over their team.
“But it’s not easy, especially in January, because you need to find the right player and the right fit for the club, and then they have to be available for the right price.
“So whether that’s Sesko, Osimhen, Wissa or somebody else, they have to decide whether they’re right for them and the way they want to play.
“In trying to find the right target, they’re taking their time, but that could lead to its own problems.
“Chances are if Arsenal are interested in a striker, they’re not going to be the only ones looking at him, and if they keep waiting then clubs will move ahead of them and they’ll miss out.
“It’s important to make the right decision, of course, but as it stands they may end up not signing anybody and then they face the same problems for another six months.”Tap Here for the Full Story
