Arsenal secured a thrilling late victory over Leicester City with stoppage-time goals from Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz, moving them level with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings.
The Gunners appeared to be cruising at halftime, but Leicester mounted a comeback with two goals from James Justin. Arsenal, however, dug deep to reclaim the lead in the dying moments, maintaining their momentum in the title race.
Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for Arsenal with a first-time shot after a pinpoint cross from Jurrien Timber. Martinelli later set up Trossard, who calmly slotted the ball past Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, giving Arsenal a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Leicester responded early in the second half, with Justin’s header taking a deflection off Havertz and wrongfooting Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya.
The equalizer came after 63 minutes when Justin hit a perfectly-timed volley, shifting the game’s momentum.
Just when it seemed Leicester would leave with a point, Trossard’s late strike, which deflected off Wilfried Ndidi, put Arsenal ahead again. Havertz sealed the result with a final goal, sending the Emirates into wild celebrations.
After the completion of the match, Arsenal’s attacker, Leandro Trossard was named the man of the match after his impressive performance against Leicester City.
The Belgian winger netted two goals to help the Gunners get back to winning ways in the English Premier league.
