The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has postponed the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to Monday, February 3, 2025. Initially scheduled to begin on January 31, 2025, the delay is necessary to accommodate essential adjustments to the registration templates as reported by Vanguard News.
According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the postponement allows the board to implement crucial changes in response to the recent suspension of certain law programs at select universities. This suspension was communicated to the board by the Council for Legal Education.
Additionally, JAMB discovered that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers used deceptive facilities to gain approval. As a result, these centers will undergo further scrutiny, and corrective actions will be taken.
JAMB acknowledges that this postponement may cause disruptions to candidates and other stakeholders. The board sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and assures that the extra time will be used to ensure a smooth registration process.
The registration for the UTME is now scheduled to commence on Monday, February 3, 2025. The board is working to ensure that all necessary adjustments are made to the registration templates and that the CBT centers are fully compliant with the required standards. The Direct Entry (DE) registration will commence on Monday, March 10, 2025, and will run until April 7, 2025. The Mock-UTME Examination is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025. The main UTME Examination will hold from Friday, April 25, to May 5, 2025.
