Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a transfer move for Manchester United forward, Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the summer transfer window.
Despite having a respectable first season in Turkey after joining Fenerbahce last summer, Mourinho will be aware that he needs to make adjustments in order to beat city rivals Galatasaray next season.
With Mourinho’s team seemingly set to finish second, Galatasaray, featuring Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, are poised to win the Turkish Super Lig this season.
Fenerbahce are guaranteed at least a second-place finish, which means they will likely qualify for the Champions League next campaign.
Mourinho desire to strengthen his attack, and Sozcu as cited by Manchester Evening News claims that Hojlund is on his wishlist.
When you take into account United’s season, the Dane’s struggles in the Premier League are not unique. Although the 22-year-old has scored ten goals this season, only four of them have come in the Premier League.
This has sparked rumors that United may try to replace him, and according to MEN Sport, Liam Delap of Ipswich Town is at the top of their list of targets for the summer window.
According to the Turkish newspaper, Mourinho has already drafted his initial offer to United, which would be a season-long loan with a buyout option for the following summer.
This kind of deal is unlikely to be approved given United’s current financial status, as sales are required to help pay for Ruben Amorim’s rebuild this summer.
Although it is unclear how much Fenerbahce would be ready to spend to sign Hojlund permanently, the report notes that it is a possibility to complete the deal.
