Joseph Boakai Liberian President Plane Crash Upon Landing

Liberian president Joseph Boakai was involved in a plane accident on Thursday night 29 May 2025, after his private jet nearly crushed while landing at the country’s main airport, causing flight disruptions.

According to the report the private jet was returning from Nigeria where the president went to attend 50th anniversary of regional Economic Community of West Africa States celebration, upon arrival they had problems with the landing gear and one of the tires burst while landing.

No one from the plane was hurt and the president was also safe.

The airport officials have assured the public that the runaway is safe and meets international standards they also added that the plane has been removed, and flights are now back to normal.

Investigations are still underway to find out what caused the incident, and the President has not yet made an official comment on what has happened.
