Journalist Cries Out: Seeks EFCC, CBN Intervention Over Unexplained Deductions by NIRSAL Microfinance Bank

A Nigerian journalist, Mr. Musliudeen Atanda Adebayo, has called on key federal agencies to intervene in what he describes as unauthorized and persistent deductions from his account by NIRSAL Microfinance Bank.

Adebayo, who voiced his concerns in a statement on Thursday, appealed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and the Public Complaints Commission to investigate the matter and stop the bank from further debiting his account without justification.

According to the journalist, repeated attempts to seek clarification from the bank have been met with silence, prompting him to seek redress through higher authorities. β€œI have done all that is necessary to understand why funds are being deducted from my account, but I have received no reasonable explanation.

I am left with no choice but to call on the EFCC, CBN, and the Public Complaints Commission to step in,” Adebayo stated.

He urged the relevant authorities to investigate the bank’s activities to ensure that customers are not subjected to financial exploitation.
