JUST IN: Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno Approved N80,000 New Minimum Wage for Workers

Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno has announced a new minimum wage of N80,000 for all workers in the state.

The new pay structure was made known through a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, on Wednesday.

Additionally, Governor Eno has established an implementation committee to ensure a seamless execution of the wage increase.

The committee will be chaired by the Head of the State Civil Service, Effiong Essien, and has been given a one-month deadline to submit its report.

Other members of the committee include the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and leaders of labour unions such as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
